Be quiet, you annoying noises!

Mosquito

The old saying has it that empty vessels make the most noise. And those noises that started with the recent news of Park Sihoo-ssi’s comeback movie are extremely annoying! Especially when they likely came from an insignificant, minority, from those with vested interests or are paid by people who consider his return a threat.

Like that darn mosquito buzzing in your ear, you really want to smack it dead! Horrible creatures, them!

Hey, give the man a break!

If you have to fault him, he only erred on being human and becoming so popular that every Tom, Dick, Harry and their dogs wanted a juicy bite of him. They would howl their loudest about him at the slightest hint of bad news. And they did.  They wanted the excuse to shut him out and shut him down for creating a stir!  What cheek!

For him to take significant time off at the height of his career to self reflect, having done nothing wrong, those making annoying self righteous noises or paying others to make them ought to hang their heads down in shame!

So be quiet you annoying noises, rein back your disgraceful behaviour! Stand aside and let this prince of a man take centre stage as is rightly his! His audience have been kept waiting and they are impatient. They will not let anyone stand in their way to have the pleasure of witnessing his magnificent performance and resounding career success!

Buzz Off!

Brewing the ParkSihooSsi.com idea

I love to write, particularly on subjects which I am passionate about.  Park Sihoo-ssi is at the very top of my list.  Oh, pardon, after my family and my boys (my dogs) that is.

The idea of starting something for Sihoo-ssi came around the time of his 37th birthday.  It was brewed when I was having a cuppa with two other PSH fans in Cafe Bene in Seoul, neither of whom had any inkling of what was tossing in my head.  This coffee joint is right across from the Galleria in Cheongdamdong, where Sihoo-ssi spent a considerable amount of time as Jean Thierry Cha of Cheongdamdong Alice.

Except for the occasional contributions to blog posts here and there, I have never set up or managed a website, a blog, a Facebook page or a Twitter account ever.  So where to start?  How to get things set up?  How to design the page?  What can I write?  Most nerve wrecking – can I keep the content flowing to keep interest high?

So it is one mammoth task ahead for this real newbie.  No doubt, there were and will be lots of hiccups along the way.  One of which, due to my travels, I had to lay off doing anything till last Sunday afternoon to start cracking.  And the other, because of how I have set this site up, it has been mistaken to be managed by a Hoo Factory Entertainment employee! Gosh! Apologies, there was no intention to mislead!

This site set up has been one rush job. I am putting it up blemishes and all for everyone to see.  Lots to clean up, lots to improve, lots to do. Please, give me your feedback so that I can work on making it better.

Most of all, please click on “Like” if you like what you see and read.  Please give this lone blogger some encouragement 🙂

Most appreciative of your support for ParkSihooSsi.com and in your support of Park Sihoo-ssi!

酝酿ParkSihooSsi.com的概念

ParkSihoossi.com这个网站居然被误为是厚工厂员工管理的!

感谢你给ParkSihooSsi.com和施厚君的支持!

Park Sihoo-ssi, that wicked, crooked smile

tumblr_m5m33k6tDv1qhqc90o4_1280

How in the world can an absolutely rationale and sane professional woman go ravingly insane over one pint-size Korean actor called Park Sihoo? Easily, if you have ever caught a glimpse of his wicked, crooked smile. That killer of a smile that makes every woman, sane or otherwise, swoon! IMG_2686

Being a sucker for historical dramas, I thought maybe the Korean ones will be good substitutes for the run of mill, often repeated remake Chinese dramas.  That was when I chanced upon the Princess Man.  The first gory episode and the idea of a tear jerker put a halt to my going forth to the next episode, even though I thought the leading man was mighty good looking with his lopsided smile.

I came across an episode of Family Honour a couple of IMG_9738months down the road and caught sight of that heart stopping smile again.  Racking my brains, I just could not place where I have seen that familiar smile. The Family Honour storyline sounded good so I thought I would give it a try, despite it being 54 episodes!

Now, that was my downfall.  Not only did it finally click where I have seen that drop dead gorgeous smile (and of course, the drop dead gorgeous man!), I also caught the Park Sihoo bug big time!

Oh boy, never did I even fathom that that wicked, crooked smile of Park Sihoo-ssi will get me hook line and sinker, and hooked for good!

Apologies that my Chinese is not up to par.

IMG_0379不可思议吧?

Deja-vu, Shanghai!

Passing through Shanghai Airport last Friday, I had a sense of Deja-vu. It broSihoossi Park's photo.ught back fond memories of my last trip there on 12 Feb 2015.

I met Sihoo-ssi and PWH at the airport. It was a distinct privilege for me to see him face-to-face., Except for a couple of Japanese fans, we were far from the maddening crowd that would greet him just a few meters away, outside the restricted immigration area.

Sihoo-ssi upclose is more gorgeous! Indescribable! All those photos, dramas and videos don’t do him justice!

Sihoossi Park's photo.

Sihoo-ssi’s 37th Birthday Tour

IMG_6584We are Family

Today, 3 April 2015, marked Sihoo-ssi’s 37th birthday. His family – blood family, new family and extended family the world over were here to celebrate this very special day with him in Seoul. In person or in spirit, the family well wishes came through to him in the sincerest forms, right from the very hearts.

These well wishes, hundreds were shown in the opening video, but I am sure in reality, it was very much more. Some of these were familiar and when these little well wishes were put together, they formed the photo of Sihoo-ssi that graced all the materials of this PSH Birthday Tour 2015, including the huge banner spanning 3 floors of the Lotte World Hotel lobby!

Sihoossi Park's photo. Sihoo made his entry lighting candles on every table, giving us an opportunity to see him at close quarters. Ladies, if you think Sihoo-ssi looks mighty handsome on screen, you will surely swoon when you see him an arm’s length away. He is many times better looking in real life, yet so personal. Pint-size, small built, muscular and larger than life..standing next to him, I felt like an elephant!

As with tradition, a birthday boy needed a birthday cake and one large one was wheeled on stage. All of us sang Happy Birthday 상일 추가합니다 in Korean and Sihoo-ssi blew out the candles that made 0403 with gusto. I fervently wished him the very best in 2015 with resounding career success and finding the love of his life.

The compere, the one who hosted the JFMs last year, interviewed Sihoo on the launch of Scent and also talked about his debut CD sales which came in overall 3rd during its run and No 1 on Day 1 launch for Tower Records in Japan…okay, I admit, I could only discern from the video which played on screen as I understood zero Japanese.

Sihoo-ssi sang both songs in his debut album – Kimowo. He read his letter to fans in the second song, in Korean, which is another language I don’t understand. Maybe I am biased but I read a lot of emotions – all sincere and coming from the heart.

There was an interactive session when Sihoo picked a few tables where he went down stage to the tables picked and did funny things for everyone at the tables – giving a 3 seconds massage, making love gestures with his hands, rubbing the hair of the person, dancing his crazy dance in CDDA, and imitating a video to do qwiyomi gestures…he was most shy with gwiyomi as we know, and tonight he was absolutely adorable in his shyness!

To me, the segment that left the most impression was the series of videos featuring family members defining the meaning of family and sending Sihoo-ssi birthday wishes. From his fans – with three creators of the selected works being among the audience and they were called on stage to tell the audience their version of family. From his new family – the newest Hoo Factory employee who replaced Mr Chubby…and equally chubby, Euro who calls Sihoo-ssi “brother”, from his real life brother PWH and from his beloved Eomeoni (Mother). Everyone talked deeply about how they felt about PSH and sent their birthday greetings. I can’t tell you what they said due to language barrier but made someone briefly translate what his mum said.

His mother defined what being family meant – the joy of being together as a family unit with Sihoo, his brother, father, grandparents, aunties and uncles. Sihoo-ssi brought a lot of joy to his family. His mum calls him “Boss” and “boss” was a mischievous and naughty boy and Eomeoni used to receive complaints from neighbors because the “boss” liked to wield a long cane to whack the heads of neighboring boys. Ah, aspiration of being “boss” in childhood becoming a reality now with Hoo Factory? We know who is the Manager (PWH), mow we know who is “Boss”!

Mum had to have the last word of course, and she said to Sihoo-ssi “Boss!”

Sihoossi Park's photo. To round off the birthday party, Sihoo-ssi sang CDDA’s theme song “Rain” and to chorus of “encore” came out to mingle among the audience singing “Season in the Sun”, before we ended the party by taking “family photos” with Sihoo-ssi and receiving gifts from him – his personally autographed photo and products from his latest CF Newe cosmetics.

Did I enjoy the party? You bet I did! I didn’t get to be that close to him as I did in Shanghai Airport but at arm’s length and within a meter’s length when he came down stage to mingle with the fans and do his cute gestures at neighboring tables.

I will be on the bandwagon for the premiere of “Love After Love” in Korea, Japan and China, if I can find time. I hope everyone can join too and give Sihoo-ssi the very best wishes for his new movie!

We love and support Sihoo-ssi always because we are Sihoo-ssi’s family

Sihoo-ssi’s 37th Birthday Tour

IMG_6556Let the party begin!

Party guests are all in attendance, tucking in to the sumptuous meal prepared specially for PSH’s birthday party.

Everyone’s here. Chatting animately about the one and only Sihoo-ssi. How did you come to know him? Why do you like him? Which of his dramas do you like best? How long have you liked him? And the questions are endless. Everyone seems to understand everyone else; there is no language barrier even though we come from different countries and speak different languages. Our common language that brings us together is Park Sihoo.

IMG_6579So now we spotted Mummy Park and Brother Park but still no Mr Park Sihoo… when will our birthday boy arrive and how will he appear in our presence?

Sihoo-ssi’s 37th Birthday Tour

IMG_6546Sihoo-ssi’s Home

We are now at Sihoo’s ancestral home, where his grandmother, his father and brother welcomed us.

The grounds were still wet from the recent rain and a fresh layer of gravel has been paved so that we don’t get our shoes dirty.

I have not taken any photo of his home as Sihoo-ssi has requested. However, within minutes of arrival, many photos have already been posted online by disrespectful souls who don’t give a damn about Sihoo’s privacy.

IMG_6551The only photos I took were the welcome banner, and close up of the budding cherry blossoms in his garden. I don’t think Sihoo-ssi will begrudge these. And posted with utmost respect.

Sihoo-ssi’s 37th Birthday Tour

IMG_6526Off We Go!

After a night of rest amidst the big thunder, lightning and rainstorm, we congregated in the Lotte World Hotel lobby at 7.50 am.

It is heartening to see so many familiar faces, many of whom have followed Sihoo-ssi through his toughest time.

We are nowsetting off to Buyeo, Sihoo-ssi’s hometown and where he spent a happy childhood and teen years. Of course we will visit his ancestral home and see his still under construction new house.

The guide has told us, in Korea, it is disrespectful to take photos of people, their things, homes etc without permission. Sihoo-ssi has requested for no photos of his home…so, sorry everyone, I would like to respect Sihoo-ssi’s privacy, so shall not take any. I hope the same can be said of others.

We have a map of Sihoo-ssi’s recommended itinerary to share,

Signing off for now…it takes around 2-3 hours to reach Buyeo.

Sihoo-ssi’s 37th Birthday Tour

First stop in Sihoo-ssi’s hometown

IMG_6537

Our first stop is the park of ponds where Sihoo frequently visits – 궁남지. These man-made ponds were located onthe side of the imperial palace in ancient times and there is a romantic love story surrounding the prince and his princess.

I can understand why Sihoo-ssi love visit this spot. It provides a serene and quiet retreat, far from the maddening crowd and glare of the critical eyes of the media in Seoul.

To start or not?

Parksihoossi.com

I was two minds about starting this. I love and respect this man and want to be able to do something more for him. But, and it is a big BUT, being a working woman who spends long hours in the office, I was not sure if this would be a good idea. How sustainable will this be? How much time can I give to this blog?

No doubt, an occasional contribution to a blog here and there is fine. But, can I do more?

As they say, you will never know till you try…

So here goes…and starting off with some recent past scribbles…
